Here is My Pre - Project

Pre Project Report



Project details:

Name: Direct Injection In Two-Stroke Engine.

Objective :

To develop a high performance engine which has the advantages of both two-stroke and four-stroke engine by combining the features of both the engines like simpler construction, better lubrication, high power, lower emission, better scavenging, etc..














Apparatus Details



Make Of The Engine: Yezdi

Displacement: 250 Cc

Lubrication System: Petroil Lubrication

Fuel Supply System: Carburretor.


Alterations Required:

Fuel supply system: direct injection using fuel pump and injectors

Lubrication system: crankcase lubrication system (splash type)


Equipments Required For Alteration :

Fuel Injection Pump

Injector

Cam Lobe

Air Filter (To Filter Lubrication Oil)


Project Details


Project Approach:


The project is to be executed through Two Modules to facilitate the proper functioning of the engine.

Module One ---- Crank Case Lubrication

Module Two ---- Fuel Injection





Module 1: Crankcase Lubrication.

This module is primary step in the execution of the project. This module basically deals with the lubrication system. For the proper functioning of any mechanical equipment lubrication is important.

Execution Procedure:

The crankcase of the engine is filled with a certain quantity of lubricating oil of required grade (20w/40) and a fibre wool filter is used to filter the oil contents, which is present in the compressed air. The fibre wool filter is positioned in between the crankcase and the transfer port.

Module 2: Fuel injection

Fuel (petrol only) is supplied to the combustion chamber (cylinder) through a diesel pump via fuel injector. The fuel is injected after the piston passes the BDC and the injected fuel quantity is controlled the throttle control in the fuel injection pump. The will be evenly distributed and mixes with the compressed air coming from transfer port. Only a very small quantity of fuel escapes with the exhaust gases (better scavenging & lesser fuel wastage).


Execution Procedure:

A fuel injection pump is mounted in the engine. It is driven by a cam lobe, which is coupled to crank shaft through fasteners. The output line of the fuel injection pump is connected to the fuel injector, which injects the fuel into the cylinder.

Timing of the fuel injection is adjusted and set to such a position that the fuel is injected after the B.D.C position of the piston for optimum performance. Quantity of fuel injected is adjusted to required volume, which can be calculated by trail & error method.

What I had in mind in 2003..

I just came across an old cd of mine... guess 2003 was a good year for me... i really learned a lot about automobile.. of-course the practical way in the form of my project...

so i'll just narrate what i did during tat year....

jan 2003... i was in my 6th sem of Diploma in mech sandwich.... there was a lot of time left for my final project.. but still then i wanted to be an Early bird...

I got around with people who has the same attitude and zest towards project and ofcourse automobile... we all knew what we knew was little, but what we would learn would be as large as our imaginations.. so i finally formed a team, which i still believe each one of us is a part of...

Someone in the regular stream mentioned about a pre-project report, which he said was mandatory for project approval.. so i made one ...

And here goes...

Implementation Idea:

The Concept Can Be Practically Implemented By Altering The Crankcase And Combustion Chamber Of A 2 Stroke Engine And By Adding Few Extra Equipments Like injectors & oil filters Etc.

Its All About Automobile

Life is lifeless if we stay still., so motion is being "LIVE".

Turbulence atleast in mechanical context is rapidly changing velocity., thats what we do in our life., Guess what makes us so turbulent., our instinct, our character and better than the rest " our Automobile "., not to mention our beloved bumpy roads.,

So to straighten out things., lets me say i'm really turbulent when it comes to biking and driving., Guess this blog would be my online catalog of all i/we did or what i missed.

Guys., i mean all my friends., automobile Engg's., Mechanical Engg's., Auto enthusiasts., all the people who love to burn the road n fuel 'of course'., to share n make our world a better place to ride/drive on., Oops forget the civil clan., guess feed us with better road technology., give our brakes 'a break' and our shocks - some rest,

I don't know why i'm doing this., but i'm gonna do some thing.,
